LMD™ Freeeafrica Identity
freeeafrica is a platform that connects African entrepreneurs, advocates and investors with one another. When the founder / CEO, contacted LMD to create the identity of this social network, we immediately welcomed the challenge of finding the right mark to represent this international social site.
At the beginning of this challenge we were presented with the clients specific requests, which were to include the content of Africa with a social networking feel, all lower case characters, with an additional e, and the incorporation of just a hint of African culture. After much research and conceptualizing the end result is a sleek and custom mark that visually tells the story of freeeafrica.
We begin with the name, it has been brought together and has a given a pop of grey. By placing a gloss within the typography a level of depth is introduced to this already custom typeface. The most unique aspect of this mark was the representation of the African continent. This is introduced by a unique grid structure. The iconography was developed to reflect the idea of the social networking, we want the viewer to become familiarized with the concept of connectivity - the viewer will see the continent as a whole yet at a closer glance they will discover that it is composed of different pieces, in this case the squares that compose the content are a reflection of the users connecting through freeeafrica. A divider line has been placed to help organize both the type, and icon, non the less, both can live as a unit or individually. Lastly, we insinuate the feel of African culture by utilizing color, in this case the splash of orange was incorporated to give definition and to unify the overall mark.
LMD™ Truelement - Mobile Massage Therapy Identity
Owner and lead massage therapist of Truelement, Leilani Aquino, approached us looking for an identity to represent her mobile massage therapy business. Ms. Aquino, was looking for mark that could transmit a sense of peacefulness and professionalism.
The result is a very attractive mark that sets up a level of tranquility and elegance for its audience. The logo introduces a sense of elegance and value with its unique representation. The type in this mark houses a traditional style but has been given a distinct flare to the tips of each letter to make it a bit more contemporary. The typography is presented with a stylized but soft line art that is used to represent the human spine. This flows across the mark allowing for an easy read from left to right. The line art peeks on the first “E” purposely since it is what bridges both words, true & element. The color choice for the mark is a reflection of earth tones that help set a smooth tone, and is also visually pleasing to look at.
LMD™ Binty Nurses Inc. Identity
Binty Nurses Inc. main goal is to provide care to clients in their home, assisted living, nursing home, or hospice. They came to LMD looking for an identity revamp that could upgrade them from their current dated look.
We approached this identity by visually communicating their companies’ tag line “Nurses with Heart”, by doing so we were able to focus our efforts on the iconography to guarantee a one of a kind mark.
Within the mark, the heart has been re-stylized to house the letter “B” and in the background we included a loose representation of the letter “N”. We utilized two well known medical symbols to tie in the services portion of the company. The name has been given a tall type face that allows legibility for both name and the tag line. We were able to strengthen the mark by creating a rectangle housing system where the icon and type live. Lastly the color palette helps reinforce a medical and calm feel, which also allows for a pleasant read.
LMD™ Vos Y Voz Identity
Vos Y Voz, is a soon to be a bilingual business entertainment publication targeted to young Latin American entrepreneurs. When the Vos Y Voz Team approach us, they expressed that they were in need of a mark that would appeal to a bilingual demographic ranging from 20-30 year old audiences.
LMD’s solution was the creation of a contemporary bold mark, that is able to capture attention and represent the mission of Vos Y Voz.
Within the V of the Vos y Voz logo, we incorporated an image of an ageless ink-pen which represents the power of writing. The warm vibrant V has been custom made to give Vos Y Voz an edgy look. We utilized a modern sans-serif type in the main title and tag line to follow through that modern look. Lastly, the tag line of VyV is unifyed by the character “y” of Vos Y Voz, this was done to emphasize the bilingual characteristics of the publication, which can also read as “amplifying minds Y amplifying voices”.

LMD™ Tang Gang Music Group Identity
Graphic design has its different avenues and here at LMD, we always look forward to opportunity to develop Identities and Brands. Being able to figure out a solution for telling a story or message through a symbol always puts our creativity and conceptualizing to the test.
For this particular project, we had the opportunity to work with up and coming funk band The Tang Gang. They came to us looking for a mark that could very well represent their groovy or in this case ‘Tangy’ sound.
The direction that was chosen explores an organic approach. The characters have been customized to maintain a certain looseness while at the same time reflecting on the characteristics of type that was used in the 70’s funk era. The T and G have been used to hold all of the characters together which allows the mark to stand alone and bold.
